The naming convention of the HK firearms is also very simple and easy to understand. All the firearms that are produced by H&K are provided with a prefix and the official designation, and postfixes are used for variants. The company has also gone through many changes in terms of its ownership. In the year 1991 HK firearms was sold to British Aerospace currently known as BAE Systems. However the BAE system resold to a German group called H&K Beteiligungs which was a company created for the purchase of HK firearms fro BAE systems in the year 2002. The company tag line is also a very interesting one depicting the confidence the handler will get by using the HK firearms. It reads as “In a world of compromise.. some don’t”. HK mainly sells its firearms in the USA civilian market. Due to high price of HK firearms many times the owners use them to show off their status and class. The HK firearms produced the following pistols including HK USP (Universal Self-loading Pistol) with variants as P8, P2000, and Mark 23, HK UCP (Ultimate Combat Pistol), HK P7, and VP70.
